A GOLDEN AGE 9-holer in the catskills

For over 100 years, Sullivan County Golf Club’s fairways have carried golfers over & across the hillsides of Liberty, New York. Not far from the fields that hosted Woodstock, Sullivan County has seen lots of history - including a transatlantic flight to Denmark that departed from the 8th fairway (now the new driving range) in 1931.

Originally designed by Maurice McCarthy and Len Rayner, Sullivan County was the highest course in the state of New York when it opened in 1925. In anticipation of SCGC’s 100th anniversary - the course went through extensive renovation & restoration in 2024, now offering a new routing by Craig & Coyne Design. The revamped SCGC now includes two new par 3’s with stunning views and a new par 5 with a dramatic mountain reveal. You will find our course improved with new green/tee irrigation, seeding and topdressing for improved putting surfaces, and a better cart routing around our new holes.

Sullivan County Golf Club’s mission is to create a place for affordable, rural, community golf that showcases the best of the Catskills. SCGC has become a home and a golf family for many of us, and that is only possible because of your support.
